Hans Wegner’s reputation is no longer to be done. Icon of Scandinavian design, this Danish artist was born in 1914 and created his first cabinet at the age of 17 years old. His tradition of craftmanship was surely inheritated from his father, who was a shoemaker. Authenticity and Honesty are the watchwords of this man who payed a great attention in his use of materials.

Wood, leather, straw are included in functional and modern designs and create harmonious ensembles. His creativity brought him to work for big names such as Arne Jacobsen and Erik Møller from 1940 and he has been represented by the firm Carl Hansen & Søns from 1949 onwards. His pieces of furniture are still very popular as their timeless designs cross the years with great success.
